Keep height and width explicit
Banner sizes in our ordering flow are labeled height × width. Check the labels rather than assuming that every printer lists dimensions in the same order. One foot equals twelve inches.
| Height × width in feet | Width in inches | Height in inches |
|---|---|---|
| 2 × 4 ft | 48 | 24 |
| 3 × 6 ft | 72 | 36 |
| 4 × 8 ft | 96 | 48 |
| 5 × 10 ft | 120 | 60 |
Measure the whole display area
Check the clear width and height between mounting points. Leave room for the attachment method and do not plan for the printed banner to overlap doors, lights or necessary signs. If the surface is uneven or the location is exposed, plan the installation with the person responsible for the site.
Draw the proposed rectangle to scale, or mark its corners with removable tape where suitable. View it from the direction people will approach. This can reveal that a wider layout suits the space better than a taller one.
Design for the viewing task
For people passing by, lead with one message and limit secondary information. A banner read from close range can carry more detail than one seen across a parking area. There is no single font size that guarantees readability in every setting.
Use a proportional design and check the full preview. Changing from a 2:1 banner to a 3:1 banner changes the shape; Fit may leave empty space and Fill may crop artwork. Keep key information away from the outer edge and grommet locations.
- Check spelling and contact information.
- Confirm height, width and quantity separately.
- Select the available grommet count.
- Review production and shipping information before payment.
